POOD-I Virtual Course FAQ

  • What will I learn?

This course teaches how to think about and write good object-oriented code. It demystifies all the secret OO code words, and you'll leave wondering how you ever thought that polymorphism, coupling, composition, inheritance, refactoring, or test-driven development were complicated.

  • What's the course like?

It's a combination of video lessons and hands-on exercises, and includes a companion book.

  • Who is this for?

This course is for everyone, regardless of background. Relative beginners have taken it successfully, and experienced OO practitioners have found it both enlightening and engaging.

  • What if I buy courses like this but never finish them? I don’t want to hate myself.

No worries, we have your back. We organize POOD-I Peer Groups 3 times a year. They start in January, April and July, run for 12 weeks, and meet for two hours every Saturday. Once you buy the course we’ll contact you about upcoming Peer Groups. Best thing? Completely free.

  • Can I see a sample lesson?

  • How long will it take?

If you take it alone expect to spend 20 to 30 hours working through the material. If you join a Peer Group, you'll meet for two hours every Saturday for 12 weeks.

  • What if I discover it's not for me?

Life is too short to be unhappy. If you decide this is not for you, just let us know and we'll cheerfully refund your tuition.
